Education is one of the basic things that can help in making the life of a person successful. It is seen that the urban areas are provided with a lot of educational institutions either it is in the private sector or in the public sector. However, the children or the youth who are eager to attend these institutions in the rural areas find it difficult to meet their requirement. It is the reduced number of the schools and colleges in that area which results in such a situation. There comes the importance of the Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya which was found to be providing educational opportunities in both the urban and the rural areas. It is initially founded as a State University with the intention to serve the students in the Indore area. Hence it is primarily known as the University of Indore.
The University of Indore was founded in 1964 and was inaugurated by the then Vice President Dr. Zakir Hussain. But in 1988, it was renamed as the Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya after which the University started to concentrate on the seven districts of the State of Madhya Pradesh. These districts include Burhanpur, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Khargone, Khandwa, Barwani and Dhar. The most important thing is that these are the districts in Madhya Pradesh which includes the people that fall under the tribal category. The A Grade accreditation received by the University from the NAAC made the certification from there more valuable for the students. The DAVV Indore gained a lot of other recognitions also which proved that they are performing as one of the top Universities in the State. If somebody claims that it should be counted in the list of best Universities in India, then there is no exaggeration in it.
